I spent many happy hours at the marvelous quirky Cuppa Cabin @Greenvalley running workshops for many lovely needle-felt beginners & advanced needle felters. Come rain or shine, they came along & made some beautiful creations from postcard pictures to foxes, cockerels to bees & ladybirds to polar bears, penguins & snowmen. Lots of laughter & chatter & lovely coffee made by the wonderful Zoe who runs the CuppaCabin.
I also ran some workshops for the lovely Spin a Yarn Shop at Bovey Tracey, an excellent venue surrounded by fantastic yarn which I admired greatly even though I cannot knit & I am a very poor crocheter!
I was thrilled to have a stand at the Exeter Cathedral Craft Festival in 2022, somewhere I have frequented each year as a visitor never thinking I would actually be an exhibitor. It was a brilliant three-day event despite the very high temperatures, great to talk to so many people about felt. I also had stands at the Exeter Cathedral Summer & Autumn Fairs with my friend Julie (Eclecticfelt) who is a brilliant needle-felter, she helped me loads in 2022 and l am really grateful to her. We also shared a stand at Widecombe Fair, somewhere neither of us had been before; brilliant cheery crowd despite the rain. Uncle Tom Cobley was glimpsed from the craft marquee passing on his horse several times. I was thrilled when members of the Dartmoor Border Morris Group brought my animals & bees for their hats! Some of my other animals once purchase went off further afield to other parts of the world, including a red squirrel to Nova Scotia no less & a hedgehog to Virginia US. The lady from Novia Scotia said she wanted one of my red squirrels because she had red squirrels in her garden. Closer to home it is also thrilling to know that two of my animals, a hedgehog & a mouse have permanent residence in Exeter Cathedral by the organ.
I am really looking forward to 2023. I have a great new logo designed by my son Josh. It includes a bee because a bee was my first needle-felt creation, many many bees have been made & purchased since then!
My workshops are expanding as I will be running some at the lovely Wool on the Exe Shop in Exeter & at Mill Cross Retreat, Rattery, South Brent, very exciting! I have a stall at Toby’s Garden Festival in April & I will be at Exeter Craft Festival again in July. It’s going to be another busy year!!
